As an Artist I am committed to using both drawing and writing to explore experiences and ideas that feel important to me. My approach is grounded in deep, embodied presence – working from the body, slowing down and connecting through feeling. I create art through spontaneous gesture: crushing charcoal, layering colour, smudging and rubbing out, writing from my gut and bones – embracing vulnerability and allowing unfinished marks and words to speak. My practice mirrors my therapeutic work – holding space for what is not yet known and what feels at times intolerable. Cultivating trust, connection and courage in the face of genuine fears.
My work explores thresholds between inside and outside, public and private, seen and hidden, courage and fear. Themes of containment, memory, identity, rupture and shame – particularly in relation to the female body and motherhood – run through my creative and therapeutic practices. Art and writing are not for me decoration but sanity and survival; a way to meet myself, stay present and honour what it is to be human and find a place in the world.
